Addiction Rx Mentor is an AI-based educational companion developed by Dr Prabhat Kumar Chand, Professor of Psychiatry and addiction psychiatrist, in support of the mission to democratize knowledge for quality care in addiction and mental health.

It is intended for healthcare professionals and supervised healthcare trainees, supporting learning and evidence-informed discussion about the assessment and management of addictive disorders.

What can it help with?

• Understanding addiction, assessment approaches and treatment principles.
• Discussing anonymized clinical scenarios and relevant evidence.
• Exploring psychosocial interventions, medication-related considerations and referral needs.
• Finding relevant learning resources, including the Addiction Rx app and addiction education programmes.

The Mentor prioritizes relevant Indian resources, including NIMHANS and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidance, alongside authoritative international sources. AI-generated responses may contain errors, omissions or outdated information.

Free educational access

The Mentor is intended to be offered free of charge, with no purchases required by its developer. Access remains subject to the hosting platform’s availability, account requirements and applicable charges.

Responsible clinical use

The Mentor supports professional learning and clinical reasoning. It does not replace direct patient assessment, professional judgment, specialist consultation or local treatment protocols.

Healthcare professionals remain responsible for clinical decisions. Verify medication doses, contraindications, interactions and recommendations against current authoritative sources before applying them in practice.

The Mentor is not an emergency service. Urgent clinical concerns require appropriate in-person assessment and emergency care.

Privacy and confidentiality

Do not enter patient-identifying information. This includes names, telephone numbers, addresses, hospital numbers, exact dates of birth, identifiable photographs or documents.

Use only the minimum anonymized clinical details needed for an educational discussion. Avoid combinations of details that could identify a person.

Conversations take place on the hosting platform and are subject to that platform’s privacy policy and account settings. Do not assume that conversations are confidential medical records or that a clinician is monitoring them.

If you choose to follow a link to an external feedback or expert-review form, review its privacy information before submitting anything. Do not include patient-identifying information.

Terms of educational use

By using the Mentor, you acknowledge its educational purpose and the limitations of AI-generated information. Use it responsibly, protect patient confidentiality and independently verify information before clinical application.

No doctor–patient relationship is established through use of the Mentor.

Feedback and quality improvement

This tool is intended for healthcare professionals, including doctors and supervised healthcare trainees. Information voluntarily submitted through contact, feedback or expert-review forms is used to respond to queries, monitor quality and improve the Mentor.

Access to these submissions is restricted to Dr Prabhat Kumar Chand, apart from processing by the services used to operate the forms. Submissions are retained for up to six months and then deleted. To request earlier deletion, contact prabhatkumarchand@gmail.com.

The current plugin does not provide the developer with access to your Mentor conversations. Please do not submit patient-identifying information through conversations or forms.
